I have some exciting news to share … we moved last week! Yes, again!
For those of you who may not know my journey these last six years, here is the recap:
In 2014, my husband retired from the Army after 24 years of service. We sold our home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to move to Tucson, Arizona so he could attend the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program – the only program of it’s kind.
My husband worked hard to earn his degree in just three years, and by June 2017, a job offer brought us to Richmond, Virginia. At the time, there was a movement to bring live horse racing back to Virginia – but it wasn’t a sure thing. We decided to play life cautiously and rent a single-family home … just in case the job didn’t work out, and we needed to move again.
Last summer, Colonial Downs held its first live horse racing event in five years, and this summer, the race season is expanding.
This was our third move in less than six years, but we are finally in our own house and able to call the Richmond area home. We took the Moving Day selfie to prove it!
Because most of my 2020 thus far has been consumed with moving and work, it made me think about how quickly the year has gone by … and how many business goals I’ve let slide.
I know I am not alone because I saw this post by a contractor in a Facebook group I belong to. Can you relate?
Life is always going to be full of “busy-ness” and curve balls. I’ve lived through many of those in the last few years. This is your friendly reminder to NOT let 2020 slide by without working ON your business.
