FAQs

We only work with remodelers, home builders, specialty contractor and associated building industry businesses and organizations.

As with any industry, over time you become specialized in certain skills because they interest you the most.

Although I can write marketing materials for a number of purposes, these are the copywriting projects I do most often for my clients:

  • SEO website copy
  • newsletters & e-newsletters
  • project success stories & case studies
  • long-form feature articles / thought-leadership articles
  • white papers & guides
  • landing pages/email series
  • data-sheets or two-sided slicks
  • association position papers
  • testimonial copy

In nearly all instances, I quote projects by flat rate, not an hourly fee. I’ve found that my clients appreciate knowing exactly how much the project will cost from the start because it makes it easier for them to budget for all of their marketing needs.

All writing projects start in this fashion:

1)  Work agreement and payment – Once I understand the scope of your project, I’ll provide you with a work agreement/quote. This needs to be signed and returned to me. Additionally, I require a 50% deposit to begin work. The balance will be invoiced within a week of delivery of the initial draft (net 15 days).

Two sets of requested revisions are included in most copywriting projects and are part of the flat-rate quote I provided you, provided that the revisions are requested within 30 days of receipt of the copy and do not include any change in direction, scope or format.

Should you request revisions, I will promptly revise the copy to your liking at my expense. All I ask is that you work with me to identify where you’d like the copy changed and offer any needed explanation. That way I can get it just right.

Absolutely! I’ve worked with construction firms from across the United States and Canada. That’s the beautiful thing about the Internet. We can get it done!

We are often scheduling projects 4+ weeks out, so the sooner you contact us about your marketing needs, the quicker we can get you scheduled into our project calendar.

Just like with every construction project, written projects take planning and time, too.

How long it takes depends on the particulars of a project – how much research is needed, interviews conducted and background material you can provide me. It also depends on what other projects are currently on our project calendar. Once you’ve agreed to the estimate and submitted your deposit, we can get started, and from there, I can give you an ETA of when you can expect your first draft.

Provide the details for your project by using my contact form. This is the quickest way to reach me about a new project. To expedite the process, please tell me about the project you have in mind, the time frame you have to get it done and the budget you have allotted for this marketing initiative. From there, we’ll schedule a brief phone call to go over the finer details of the project so I can provide you with a written estimate.
